The traditional form of the Bhai Tika festival that is observed in Nepal is on the last day of the Tihar festival which is a process of bonding and purifying the relationship between the brother and sister. This is a part of the worship of Goddess Laxmi And Lord Yama. The process of celebrating Bhai Tika includes putting Saptarangi Tika on the forehead of the brother and in return, giving gifts to the sister with lighted candles in the face of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Yama. They are also believed to remove all harmful substances from the house.
